Tuljapur
Tuljapur is a famous spiritual town in Osmanabad district. The town is home to the Tulja Bhavani Temple which is considered as one of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, would always remain incomplete without a note about the tremendous faith he had in the goddess Tulja Bhavani
. As such, Tulja Bhavani of Tuljapur is considered the state goddess of Maharashtra. The founder of the Maratha kingdom, Shivaji Maharaj always visited the temple to seek her blessings. It is believed that the Goddess gave him a sword - 'the Bhawani sword' - for success in his expeditions.
